It’s less than a week till the winter solstice and Pen Llyn is absolutely sodden. I am dreaming of a white Christmas: blue skies, sunshine and clear dry. To be honest, I’m worried about all this rain. It makes life difficult for us and even harder for the wildlife in the wood… (more…)

Today is All Souls, The Day of the Dead: an appropriate time to remember the people and pets buried in the wood over the last 15 years. The first person to take up residence, in 2005, was my father, Billy Melville. It would have been his 107th birthday today but he didn’t want to stick around, 14 years without my mother was already too long… (more…)

Such lovely colours!
As the nights lengthen and the days grow colder, the glorious colours of autumn appear in the world. I’m writing this newsletter just over a week after the autumn equinox, but already the change has been traumatic. I’ve started lighting my fire in the evenings, a good stock of logs from the world keeping me warm. We have plenty of well dried wood in our logpiles for everybody who can collect it, all we ask for in return is a small donation to the charity. (more…)

Er mwyn diogelu ymwelwyr ac aelodau o’n staff yn y Goedwig Dragwyddol, mae’r mesurau diogelwch canlynol yn dod i rym ar unwaith.
Peidiwch ag ymweld â’r goedwig os ydych chi neu aelod o’ch teulu yn dangos unrhyw un o symptomau’r firus, neu’n teimlo’n wael. Dylai pob aelod o’ch cartref hunan-ynysu a chadw draw o’r goedwig am gyfnod o 7 i 14 diwrnod dan yr amgylchiadau uchod.
Os ydych yn ymweld â’r goedwig, sicrhewch fod o leiaf dwy fedr rhyngddoch chi a phawb arall sydd ddim yn aelod o’ch cartref.
Gwisgwch fenyg neu golchwch eich dwylo gyda sebon a dŵr poeth neu hylif diheintio dwylo ag alcohol ar ôl i chi gyffwrdd y giât neu ddrws y toiled.
Peidiwch â defnyddio’r toiled os nad yw’n hollol angenrheidiol, ond os oes raid, golchwch eich dwylo neu ddefnyddio diheintydd alcohol cyn ac ar ôl defnyddio’r toiled.
Pan yn parcio, cadwch o leiaf 2.5 metr rhwng y ceir a pheidiwch â rhannu car efo unrhyw un sydd ddim o’ch cartref chi.
Gall y maes parcio gymryd 8 car ar unrhyw un achlysur. Pan fydd claddedigaeth, bydd 2 neu 3 gofod yn cael ei gymryd gan ein staff a’r hers, felly cyfyngir nifer y gofidwyr i 6 car, gan gofio na ddylid rhannu car gyda phobol o’r tu allan i’ch cartref.
Ar bob achlysur dylid dilyn cyfarwyddiadau/canllawiau’r llywodraeth.
