“It’s great to be able to help and play a bigger part in the wood where Elen is buried. And we always have a laugh!”
So said Alwyn whose sister-in-law is buried here. Being in the wood is special and we realise that not everyone can come here – if you would like to offer your time and skills remotely, please let us know.
How can you help?
In the wood we do care and repair type jobs – ensuring the paths are accessible; tending young plants in the native species nursery; collecting seeds and pulling brambles. We supply all tools including gloves. We always need help with events – we have had some star car park attendants, marquee wizards and cake makers! Remotely, you could help with proofreading our publicity and fundraising material. Would you be able to help with Welsh translations of shorter material? You could research ethical purchases for us. Keep our website up to date! Whilst we do have a regular slot (last Sunday of the month) we can also try to fit in with your free time – just send us a message or phone and we will do our best to meet you.
Volunteer Sundays
Join us in the wood on the last Sunday afternoon of every month from about 11 -3. Volunteers needed to do some gentle forest gardening, tending trees, transplanting flowers, and collecting seeds. If you are able to spare some time to help weeding paths or clearing brambles please come and say hello. We have a selection of gardening tools and gloves you can use. Please wear weather appropriate clothing. Volunteers with disabilities welcome. We provide cake and apple pie too!
Become a Charity Trustee
This is a role you might like to consider: help is always welcome around our plans, fundraising, finances and especially now with a second burial site on the horizon. Please get in touch to share your ideas with us.
