I first heard of the wood years ago, via Bella and Colin, and wanted to get involved but was too busy etc. Now retired, I like the idea of people being more accepting of death, less frightened, and this seems to be easier for everyone if it is thought of as being embedded in nature, part of an endless cycle.
Lying in a wood, with trees and plants, birds and all other living and dying beings, seems more inviting than being sealed off in a box. I particularly like the idea of feeding all that life, providing high-quality nourishment to whoever needs it (I am a cook). Giving goodness back into the cycle feels very satisfying. But it doesn’t just happen, someone has to make it possible. So I decided to do my bit and volunteered my rather out-dated skills in figures, law and volunteering. Interesting so far!
